Our Inspection Report

The OFSTED Report is an initiative designed to assure the government, parents and the public that funded nursery education is of an acceptable quality.

Inspections identify strengths and weaknesses and encourage an ongoing programme of improvements so that the nursery can continuously improve the educational provision and help children to achieve the Early Learning Goals by the end of the Foundation Stage.

What did OFSTED have to say about us?

The new inspections judge the effectiveness of the provision against the following headings:

  • Helping children to be healthy
  • Helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do
  • Nursery Education
  • Helping children make a positive contribution
  • Organisation
  • Improvements since the last inspection
  • Complaints about the childcare provision

In all areas the judgement Woodstock received was GOOD. Ofsted gives the following definition of GOOD - this aspect of the provision is strong.

"The children benefit from a good healthy and nutritious diet and their individual dietary requirements are taken into account"

"Children's safety is of great importance. All areas and activities are risk-assessed and any hazards are immediately reported and dealt with"

"Warm relationships are very evident between staff and children. Children demonstrate good social and emotional development by their happiness and their engagement in the activities"

"An effective system is in place for the planning and evaluation of activities"

"Children are developing good confidence and self-esteem as they explore independently in the safe environment"

"All children are respected and valued as individuals"

"Children are well-behaved as staff manage their behaviour sensitively and appropriately. Babies and toddlers are re-directed or distracted. More able children are able to listen to reason and they know and accept the rules within the setting"

"The leadership and management of the nursery is good. The management team are clear on their roles and responsibilities and, as a result, the day runs smoothly for the children"

"Staff carry out observations of the children, to monitor and record their developmental progress along the stepping stones towards the Foundation Stage of learning"

"Since the last inspection there have been no complaints to Ofsted"
